For many football academies, an international tournament is simply another competition. For Green-Kenya Football Academy, our journey to the Norway Cup is something much bigger. It is a story of opportunity, resilience, and the transformative power of community.
For the first time in our history, Green-Kenya Football Academy will travel to the Norway Cup, one of the world’s largest youth football tournaments. While the tournament itself is an exciting milestone, what makes this journey truly special is where our players come from and what they represent.
Most of our players come from humble backgrounds and informal settlements where opportunities to travel, experience different cultures, and compete on international stages are often limited. For many young people growing up in these communities, international travel can feel like an impossible dream.
Yet through dedication, discipline, and the unwavering support of parents, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, and the wider Green-Kenya family, these young people are preparing to represent not only themselves but an entire community.

Their journey sends a powerful message to every child growing up in our neighborhoods:
Your background should never determine your future. Norway Cup is proof that dreams can become reality when young people are given opportunities, guidance, and a community that believes in them. G-K Football Academy is neither a casual team nor simply a competitive football club. We are a community-based youth development academy that uses football as a tool for holistic growth while pursuing excellence on the field.
What makes Green-Kenya unique is not our facilities or our trophy cabinet. It is our belief that football can be a powerful vehicle for social change. While many academies focus solely on developing footballers, Green-Kenya is committed to developing young people who are not only skilled players but also leaders, environmental stewards, community coaches, and responsible citizens. Our approach is captured in three simple words: Play. Learn. Conserve.

Through sport, young people develop confidence, teamwork, and resilience. Through learning, they build leadership skills and personal responsibility. Through conservation, they become environmental stewards who understand their role in creating a sustainable future.
A Green-Kenya player is expected to contribute both on the pitch and in the community. Winning matters, but development comes first.
Imagine a young person growing up in an informal settlement in Nairobi, international travel may seem impossible. Playing against teams from Europe, Asia, and the Americas may feel like something reserved for others. Yet today, those same young people are preparing to represent Kenya on one of the world’s biggest youth football stages.
That story is not really about football; it is about opportunity, belonging, hope, and breaking barriers. Most importantly, it is about what becomes possible when a community invests in its young people.
As we prepare to travel to Norway, our expectations extend far beyond results on the football field. We expect our players to represent their families and community with pride. We expect them to demonstrate respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
We hope they learn from players and coaches from around the world, build confidence in their abilities, and return home as ambassadors of hope for younger children who are following in their footsteps. We understand that we will compete against teams with different levels of resources, experience, and exposure. However, our greatest strength has always been our resilience, determination, and willingness to learn.
Of course, we want to compete courageously in every match. We want to play disciplined and attractive football. Advancing beyond the group stage would be a significant achievement. But our success will not be measured solely by wins and losses.

Success will be seeing our players walk onto international pitches knowing they belong there. Success will be watching them interact with young people from different countries and realizing they are part of a much bigger world. Success will be hearing them share their experiences with younger children when they return home. Success will be strengthening the belief that football can be a powerful tool for education, leadership, and social change. Success will be inspiring the next generation of Green-Kenya players to dream even bigger.
We want every player to return home more confident, more responsible, more independent, more culturally aware, and better equipped to lead both on and off the field.
This Is Just the Beginning

Years from now, we hope people will look back on Norway Cup 2026 and remember it as the moment when a group of young people from humble beginnings showed that talent, character, and determination can take you anywhere in the world. The story of Green-Kenya is not about football alone. It is about giving young people the opportunity to learn, lead, and thrive. It is about proving that circumstances do not define potential.
And it is about building a future where every child has the chance to dream bigger than the world expects them to.
Play. Learn. Conserve. Giving Our Children a Green Future Through Sports.
