2025 was a defining year for Green-Kenya a year of strategic alignment, resilience, and measurable impact. Guided by our belief that sport is a powerful tool for social change, we strengthened our internal systems, expanded our reach, and deepened our commitment to empowering children and communities across Kenya.
Through football, education, leadership, and environmental action, Green-Kenya continued to create safe spaces where young people can learn, grow, and lead positive change.
One of the most significant milestones of 2025 was the pilot of the Emerging Leaders Program. Designed for young athletes, the program focuses on developing leadership skills and shaping positive mindsets both on and off the pitch. This initiative was implemented in partnership with Mirable Training Solutions and Australian Sports Leadership, laying the foundation for a new generation of confident, values-driven leaders.

Green-Kenya’s work in 2025 was delivered through five interconnected divisions: Football Academy, Women Up, Coach Education, Environmental Literacy, Social Impact Program. Together, these divisions advance our mission of giving children a greener future through sports.
Green-Kenya is a sport-for-development organization that uses sport as a tool to drive social impact and create positive change, especially among youth and underserved communities. We empower individuals by promoting life skills, environmental stewardship, gender equality, and inclusive development.
Mission:
Giving our children a green future through sports.
Vision:
A world in which youth and adults learn, grow, and work as catalysts for positive change.

Football plays a central role in the communities we serve. We provide safe spaces, structured sessions, and trained coaches for children to play daily. For many participants, Green-Kenya offers their first opportunity to engage in organized football. We promote inclusive and equitable quality education by working closely with physical education teachers. Through sport, children develop discipline, teamwork, confidence, and lifelong learning skills that extend beyond the pitch.
In 2025, Green-Kenya actively advanced 7 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through play and sport-based programming:
- Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
- Goal 4: Quality Education
- Goal 5: Gender Equality
- Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
- Goal 10: Reduced Inequality
- Goal 13: Climate Action
- Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals
“As we step into 2026, I am encouraged by Green-Kenya’s continued progress in advancing our mission to build a greener and more inclusive future through sports. Together with our team, partners, and community, we have strengthened programs that empower youth, promote leadership, and champion environmental stewardship.
I am grateful for the collective commitment that drives our impact, and we remain steadfast in our resolve to create lasting, positive change in the lives of children and young people. I am particularly thrilled with the football academy program that is taking shape and making our future promising for both the organization and youth programs.”

As we move forward, Green-Kenya will focus on the following priorities:
Eradicating gender inequality in sports and empowering girls through leadership and life skills. Building a strong network of competent and ethical coaches for sport-for-development. Fostering environmental awareness and action through sports-based education. Leveraging sport to drive social change and community development. Training young footballers in technical skills, leadership, and life skills
